Does my horse have to be registered?

No your horse does not have to be registered with an association. We accept all horses.

Who is in charge of this program?

The Border Run is comprised of six representatives from the following organizations at this time. Spring Grove Open Shows, Lake County Mounted Posse, West 20, Spring Fling, Sunflower Barns of Bristol, and the Kenosha County Horse Project. These are the founders.

Will you be offering a tiny tot division?

Given the curve ball that 2020 threw us our expectations were not entirely met. As we evolve and develop our hope is to add a couple more divisions. But first we need to meet some goals and milestones before we expand our divisions. We want this program to be highly successful and blossom so we can expand and do great things for the exhibitors.

One of the shows age division differs from the age divisions listed. How will the bracket difference count for the challenge?

It won't differ at all. For example, if the age division is 12 and under for Junior Junior and the majority of other shows are 13 and under for Junior Junior the 12 & under still falls underneath the 13 and under age division. It's based on your age. So if you are 11, 12 or 13 you are in the 13 & under division. The same applies to open classes. If you are 11, 16 or 19 and you go in an open class that open class applies to your age division.

Are there high points for each class division too?

Yes, there are high points and reserves for each class/division. For example, 13 & Under Western Performance, 19 & over Showmanship, etc. Buckles are only awarded to those who achieve overall high point. Other awards for the class/divisions will be decided each year.
